ZNO Writing 2018 Sample

You’ve received a letter from your English pen-friend in which he/she accepts your invitation to come and stay with you in Ukraine for a week. Write a letter to your pen-friend and say

• when the best time to come is and why;
• what tourist attractions there are in your area;
• what activities he/she could enjoy during the visit.

Write a letter of at least 100 words. Do not write your own name, any dates, addresses or other personal information. Start your letter in an appropriate way.

Dear Kate,

We have not been in touch for a long time, which is just because of my preparing for exams. I am very grateful to you for writing me a letter. Honestly, I am so happy that you are going to spend these seven days with me in Lviv.

I suppose that you should come here in the summer. Because in this period of time the weather is quite warm, it is always sunny and there are no clouds in the sky. So, I offer you to visit me in June, when it is not so hot outside.

What the best thing I can say about Lviv is that there are a lot of places where you can spend your free time with pleasure. For example, there are a lot of museums, cafes, parks, and also a large number of exciting events, like music festivals, fairs, art exhibitions, etc. So, you won’t be bored here.

Though Lviv is a beautiful city, I would like to spend some time with you, visiting the Carpathian Mountains, where we will unite with the nature. Besides, I know that you are going to be a photographer in the future. There will be a lot of places with stunning views and you can take some good photos.

Oh, I forgot to tell you something: we shall sleep in the tents while staying on the top of Hoverla.
