IELTS Model Essay (a Table + a Pie Chart)

The tables and pie chart show in percentage terms the results of a survey of a new shopping complex in Auckland, New Zealand.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

The tables illustrate the outcomes of a survey, that was intended to find out people`s opinion about shops and restaurants in a new mall in New Zealand, and the pie chart shows visitors` attitude to its design. The information is divided into two groups by gender in the table, while the data in the pie chart represented for both sexes.

Overall, the majority of people were pleased with the quality of provided services: approximately 63% regarding shops and 65% - restaurants. The biggest number of satisfied consumers was observed with respect to the design of the shopping complex – 72%.

Among those, who rated the shops high most were women, while men gave the most positive reviews of the restaurants. Roughly one-quarter of the polled did not want to give their opinion regarding shops (27%) and more than one-third refused to estimate restaurants (35%). On the other hand, a very large proportion of interviewees (89%) accepted to express their attitude to the design of the mall and only a small minority of them was dissatisfied.

As a result, a conducted survey showed a large proportion of satisfied consumers of a new shopping centre.
