​The Color TVs (Level A2)

Put the verbs in brackets in a proper tense.

JIM is at home. He /look/ out of his window. He /see/ two men in his neighbor's driveway. They /be/ there for half an hour. The men /carry/ a big color TV. They /carry/ the TV to a truck.

Jim /open/ his window. "Hey!" he /say/ to the two men. “ /Be/ you TV repairmen?" "Yes," the men /answer/. “/Be/ you going to fix that TV?" Jim /ask/. "Yes," the men /answer/ again.

"My TV /be/ broken," Jim tells the men. “ It /not work/ for a week. you /take/ my TV, too?"

"Sure," the men say. "We /take/ your TV."

Jim /give/ the men his color TV. The men /put/ the two TVs in the truck and /drive/ away. Jim never /see/ his TV again. The two men /not be/ TV repairmen. They /be/ robbers. They /steal/ his TV.

The Color TVs

JIM is at home. He is looking out of his window. He sees two men in his neighbor's driveway. They have been there for half an hour. The men are carrying a big color TV. They are carrying the TV to a truck.

Jim opens his window. "Hey!" he says to the two men. "Are you TV repairmen?" "Yes," the men answer. "Are you going to fix that TV?" Jim asks. "Yes," the men answer again.

"My TV is broken," Jim tells the men. “ It has not been working for a week. Will you take my TV, too?"

"Sure," the men say. "We shall take your TV."

Jim gives the men his color TV. The men put the two TVs in the truck and drive away. Jim never sees his TV again. The two men aren't TV repairmen. They are robbers. They have stolen his TV.
